Vengeance of Hades (Published 2011)

Vengeance of Hades was my very first zombie story and my second print publication. It was a great experience going through the editing phase with the other writers. Be sure to buy your copy and check out the work of writers like Gary McMahon, Stephen Bacon, Benedict Jones, Carole Johnstone and Ross Warren. Cover art by award winning Vincent Chong.

Jaws of Integrity (2010)

This is a very powerful story about crime in South Africa. It is also the first story I wrote where I really managed to tap into my emotions as I wrote. It will be available in Pill Hill Press's 365 Daily Bites of Flesh Anthology.

The Rolling of the Hearse (2010)

A while back I underwent a serious zombie splurge, which allowed me to write two very unique zombie tales. This being the first. The Rolling of the Hearse follows a Grave Yard Keeper through his not-so-normal duties.

‘No Man’s Land’ and ‘The Devil Made Me Do It’ (2010)

A good friend of Mywriterscircle passed away. The writers of the forum put together the best stories we could muster and made this charity anthology for the hospice that cared for our friend in his last days. You will never be forgotten, Tim Carter. No Man's Land is a World War 1 dreamlike story about a soldier lost in the mist. In his search for his friend he stumbles across a clan of flesh eating, soulless soldiers. The Devil Made Me Do It follows a young man along a bus ride from hell.

 Michael (2009)

Michael was one of the first stories I wrote after picking up my pen, so to speak. Hence the many rewrites. It was my first print publication and my second publication overall. Shortly thereafter it was also published at Ghastlydoor.com. It starts out as the normal alone in the dark tale, then takes on a serious twist or two.

The Stranger (Published 2011)

One of my favorite ghost stories, 'The Stranger', has been accepted by Pages of stories for their Spring 2011 issue. It was one of my first stories and took me almost two years before I was finished with it. It was also the first story I wrote that was character-centered. Unfortunately Pages of Stories has closed down, so the magazine is no longer available.

The Great Wall of Rubin - (Available from Short-Story.Me -  Dec 2011)

After struggling for two years to get into this market, I finally wrote a worthy horror story about a recovering alcoholic facing his demons.

The Dead Don't Sleep Here Anymore (Oct 2011)

This has got to be my favorite zombie story ever. And best of all, I wrote it myself.

 __________________________________________________________________________

The Battle in Osroth (December 2011)

This was my very first fantasy story, which I wrote for a writing challenge over at IFWG Publishing. It was published by Silver Blade Magazine.

A Final Request (2012)

A touching twist in the tale story. Inspired by Anton Chekhov and published by Indigo Rising Magazine.

Forever Nevermore, a Poe-inspired ghost story (January 2012).

 A Simple Certainty (July 2011)

All I can say about this story is 70's Dr. Who-type horror. And the fact that I global warming was on my mind a lot when I wrote it. It was also republished later in 2011 at B-Wasp, a website featuring local writers from Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Forgive me now? (2011)

This is another flash fiction story that started out as a flash challenge at Mywriterscircle.com. It's pretty much about the emotional rollercoaster of a guilt-ridden man running out of time.

Daddy (2009)

Daddy was the not only my first published story, but also the first story I ever submitted to a publisher. Click on banner to read the story.

The Other Side of the River (December 2011)

This is quite a unique story for a unique publication - Danse Macabre. The story is a violent portrayal of using other people to do one's bidding.

Memoirs of a Ghost (Semi-fictional essay - 2011)

Daddy’s Little Boy and Higher Learning (2011)

Daddy’s Little Boy is a bit of a violent piece I wrote about the relationship between a father and son. Whereas Higher Learning is a republishing of a sci-fi horror flash story I wrote in 2010. (You can just click on the name of the story you want to read)

'No Man’s Land' AND 'Jaws of Integrity' (Republished 2011)

I'm proud to have these two stories in the very first issue of Machete Moonlight Horror Fiction Magazine. Unfortunately this publisher is no longer online.

Higher Learning (2010)

In the mood for a fish-out-of-water story with just the right amount of blood and gore mixed with suspenseful twists? Then head on over to FlashesintheDark.com for my story Higher Learning. And I have to add, it was one of my favorite stories to write.

 Michael (Republished 2010)

Michael was my first print publication and my second publication overall. Shortly thereafter it was also published at Ghastlydoor.com. It starts out as the normal alone-in-the-dark tale, then takes on a serious twist or two.

It is available at Ghastly Door. Due to the fact that my story is archived, you'll have to scroll down to the bottom to read it.

The picture below is a sketch from the story.

Our Tree (Nov 2011)

What can I say about this story. Someone dared to me to write a nice little story without any horror or suspense, so I did. But don't worry, I'm not changing genres.

The Last Hunt (Published 2010)

This is one of my more dreamworld stories. As well as my first vampire tale. Be sure to click on the picture below to read the story.

Wicked Damnation (2010)

Wicked Damnation is a very short piece about a dying man's journey into the merited unknown. Click on the skull to read what happened.

The Harrowing Tides (2011)

I wrote this story quite a while back for a Flash Fiction Challenge at Mywriterscircle.com. Which I’m happy to say I won. And the other day I came across the publisher Flashshot, who’s looking for flash fiction stories of exactly 100 words. I immediately knew I had something to send. And the publisher said he really liked the story. It’s my shout-out to the heroes of WWII. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Since the story is no longer available on the website, I decided to put it here:

He lay on the beach before me, reaching out, his eyes blood-shot red. My mind froze as our surroundings slowed to a deafening halt. He grabbed my hand and pulled me closer. Smoke and fire framed his frail figure.

He cast his eyes to the heavens and mumbled “Mommy” as a bloody bubble burst in the corner of his mouth.

The ocean water turned red as it rounded his uniform. I looked up at the bloodshed. His hand slipped from my grasp. I didn’t even know his name.

I grabbed my M1 Garand and joined the silent heroes of Omaha.

Food Fights (2011)

This was just a funny little story I wrote for a flash fiction challenge. I think it's the shortest thing I've published. It is available at Postcard Shorts.

 Love is cruel (2011)

This must be the shortest piece of fiction I've written so far. Not much going on plot-wise, just a creepy little story that made me laugh.
